Dennis L. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was asked whether he could build a wooden dog kennel. He hadn’t done one before, but he found a picture on Pinterest, worked out the rest as he went, and ended up with a two-door kennel console long enough to sit under a wall-mounted TV.
It’s built from construction grade pine with a plywood back and steel bars in the doors and center panel, finished with oil based stain and polyurethane. Dennis spent roughly 10 to 15 hours across almost three weekends, about $150 in lumber and another $50 in supplies, working with a table saw, miter saw, drill and palm sander.
In Dennis’s words
Was asked if I knew how to build a wooden dog kennel. Said I never had, but was willing to try. Found a basic plan idea picture and proceeded to build my biggest project so far.
