Hi, I’m Matt Hagens, and I’ve been passionate about woodworking since I was a kid. Like many, I reconnected with this hobby during the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking a creative and fulfilling outlet. What started as a way to pass the time quickly turned into a lifelong passion.
My woodworking journey began with a lot of trial and error, hours of YouTube videos, and a few online courses to help me sharpen my skills. Over the years, I’ve built everything from furniture for my home and friends to larger projects like finishing my basement and adding a wet bar.
While my main focus is woodworking and carpentry, I’ve also taken on other hands-on work, including electrical projects in both new and old construction. For me, every project is an opportunity to learn, create, and make something meaningful.
Through Obsessed Woodworking, I hope to inspire others to discover the joy of building with their hands and creating something they can be proud of.
Matt is a member of Steve Ramsey’s The Weekend Woodworker and also a member of Eddie Case’s Basement Finishing University. Matt graduated from Millersville University in 1998. He also founded Hagens Marketing which has helped hundreds of clients improve their business websites and online marketing efforts.
