This beautiful teak table was built and designed by Old Guy Woodworks, and it’s a fantastic addition to any patio or outdoor space.

Materials and Tools Needed:
- Teak boards for the tabletop and legs
- Wood glue
- 20 gauge pins
- Acetone
- Screws for attaching the skirt
- Sandpaper (various grits)
- Teak oil for finishing
- Clamps
- Router with a round-over bit
- Makita track saw
- Drill
Step 1: Prepare Your Teak
This project starts with high-quality teak, which is naturally resistant to water. Begin by cutting your teak boards to the required dimensions. To avoid wasting material, cut accurately before ripping the boards down further. Remember, teak is expensive, so precision is key.

Step 2: Clean the Teak
Before gluing, it’s essential to remove the natural oils from the teak surface. Wipe down the boards with acetone to ensure a clean surface for the glue to adhere properly. Make sure they are completely dry before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Assemble the Tabletop
Using a breadboard style construction, start by creating the tabletop. Attach the slats using wood glue and 20 gauge pins, working from the center outwards to maintain even spacing. Shims can be helpful to keep the joints consistent.

Step 4: Create the Skirt and Legs
Next, prepare the skirt that will support the tabletop. Drill pilot holes for the screws and attach the skirt to the bottom of the table. This will provide additional stability. For the legs, you can use a simple butt joint or opt for a mortise and tenon joint for added strength.

Step 5: Sanding and Finishing Touches
After assembling the table, it’s time for sanding. Use a sander to smooth out any rough edges and imperfections. Once satisfied with the finish, apply a round-over to the legs to prevent chipping when moving the table.

Step 6: Apply Teak Oil
To finish your table, apply a generous amount of teak oil. Let it soak in without rubbing off the excess. Once it’s set, lightly sand the surface to achieve a smooth, non-gummy finish. This will enhance the wood’s natural beauty and provide protection against the elements.

Step 7: Enjoy Your New Table
Once everything is dry, your beautiful teak outdoor table is ready for use! Set it up on your patio and enjoy the time spent outdoors with family and friends.
