If you’re looking to build a beautiful TV stand that’s perfect for any living space, you’re in the right place! This project was created by Madison from This Faithful Home, who shared her journey of building a TV stand for a family friend.

Materials
- 9 x 2x4x8 boards
- 3 x 2x6x8 boards
- Wood Glue
- Dark Walnut Stain
- Gloves
- Old Rag/Sock
- Marking Tool
Tools
- Miter Saw
- Kreg Jig
- Cordless Drill
- Tape Measure
- Belt Sander
Step 1: Cutting the Wood
Madison started by purchasing all the wood from Lowe’s and using her miter saw to cut the pieces for the TV stand’s framework. The design was drawn out, aiming for a length of 7 feet.

Step 2: Drilling Pocket Holes
Using a Kreg jig, Madison drilled pocket holes into the wood pieces. This technique allows for a clean assembly without visible screws.

Step 3: Pre-drilling Holes and Applying Wood Glue
Before assembling the pieces, Madison pre-drilled all necessary holes. She emphasized the importance of applying wood glue to ensure a strong bond between the pieces.

Step 4: Assembling the Frame
After applying glue, Madison positioned the pieces for assembly. Using screws, she secured the pieces together, ensuring everything was aligned correctly.

Step 5: Creating the Shelf
Next, she assembled the shelf using 2x4s and prepared to add the top, which would be made from 2x6s.

Step 6: Sanding the Project
Once the structure was complete, Madison used a Ryobi belt sander to smooth out the edges and surfaces, giving the stand a polished look.

Step 7: Staining the Wood
Madison chose a dark walnut stain for the entire project. She applied it using an old sock, a method she prefers for easy cleanup.

Step 8: Final Assembly and Review
After staining, Madison admired the final product, excited to see how the family friend would decorate it. The stand turned out beautifully, showcasing her craftsmanship and attention to detail.
