This fantastic pallet coffee table was created by TMBRMAN of TMBRMAN TV, and it’s perfect for any living space. Transform a pile of pallets into a stunning coffee table that adds a rustic touch to your home.
Materials Needed:
- 3 pallets (make sure they are pest-free)
- 2×4 scrap wood for the base
- 4×4 lumber for the legs
- 18 gauge brad nails
- Clear coat finish
Tools Required:
- Hammer
- Circular saw
- Brad nailer
- Orbital sander
- Square
- Torches (optional)
Step 1: Disassemble the Pallets
Start by taking apart the pallets. Use a hammer to pry off the top boards carefully. Make sure to avoid damaging the wood as you remove the nails.
Step 2: Clean Up the Boards
Once you have the boards off, clean them up by removing any nails that are still attached. A hammer works best for this task, but be gentle to avoid breaking the wood.
Step 3: Assemble the Tabletop
Now, take your 2×4 scrap wood and lay it out to create the base for your tabletop. Start with one corner and work your way down, ensuring everything is square as you go.
Step 4: Trim the Edges
Once your tabletop is assembled, you may notice some overhanging edges. Use a circular saw to trim these edges for a clean finish.
Step 5: Burn the Wood (Optional)
If you want to add a unique texture to your table, consider using a torch to burn the surface. This will highlight the grain and give your table a rustic look.
Step 6: Sand the Tabletop
After burning, use an orbital sander to smooth out the surface. This step will help push the burn marks deeper into the wood, enhancing the overall appearance.
Step 7: Prepare the Legs
For the legs, cut the 4×4 lumber to the desired height, typically between 18 to 20 inches. Ensure they are all the same height for stability.
Step 8: Attach the Legs
Flip the tabletop over and attach the legs using brad nails. Make sure everything is aligned properly and secured.
Step 9: Add Finishing Touches
Finally, apply a clear coat finish to protect the wood and enhance its natural beauty. This step will also help the table pop in your living space.
And there you have it! Your very own DIY pallet coffee table.
