Step 3: Construct the Base

Using 4×4 boards for the legs and 2x4s for the center, cut the pieces to length and assemble them using pocket holes. Ensure that the angles of the legs are cut correctly for a stable base.

Step 4: Attach the Base to the Tabletop

Secure the base to the tabletop using figure eight fasteners. This allows the base to be removed if needed.

Step 5: Create the Breadboard Ends

Cut the ends of the breadboard to give a rounded look and attach the skirt using wood glue and screws. This will allow for the leaves to slide in when extended.

Step 6: Install Table Slides and Locks

Attach the table slides to ensure they are perpendicular to the table’s edge. This is crucial for the leaves to slide in smoothly. Also, install shelf pins to secure everything in place.
