Step 1: Cutting the Wood
Start by cutting the seat boards. You’ll need five pieces at 17.5 inches long.

Next, cut five boards at 13.5 inches long for the steps.

Now, cut the legs at 22.5 inches long.

Step 2: Creating the Structure
Using the previously cut pieces, build the steps first, then assemble the seat with two little braces, followed by attaching all the legs.

Step 3: Securing with Screws
Grab the 2.5-inch construction screws and start drilling your pieces together. The screws should be driven in tight for a sturdy finish.

Step 4: Adding Support
After assembling, you may notice that the sides of the stool might buckle when weight is applied. To fix this, add a 13.5-inch 2×4 piece for extra support. This will stabilize the stool and prevent it from swaying.

Step 5: Final Assembly
Once the support is in place, your stool should be stable and functional as both a stool and a step ladder. It only took a couple of hours to build, and you can easily store it under your workbench.

And there you have it! A simple yet effective bar stool step ladder perfect for any workshop.
